However, WE Racing's 2 Time Adult Stock Champion Brent Whitlow continues his reign over the Adult stock class in a close one. David Isley knocked off Wolfpack Racing in the Performance Series (Lead Sleds). The Masters club returned from their off month to see Nick Hooker take the first place trophy. Sidney Allen continues to win in the Youth Class.

First time SAPCAR racers Nate & Darrell Fisher both took home first place trophies after defeating Sidney Allen (youth stock) and Brent Whitlow (adult stock), respectively. Sidney and Brent had dominated the season so far with 3 wins each.  SAPCAR fans from across our area cheered on the first timers as they placed high in each of their four classes. In the performance series, a little bit of unfinished business was finished as David Isley continued his win streak (2 in a row now). Now his unpainted car may head to the paint booth for some final touches before its unleashed for another round of competition next year in the performance series. The boys at WE Racing found a little speed as they took back over thier place atop the Modified class. Nick Hooker took home first again in the Master's Club. Saturday's race was the last race for 2009 but we have four more races to go in Season 7. We look forward to seeing everyone back next year as we continue the second have of Season 7. The next race will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2009.

Mid-Season Points Update:

SAPCAR reached the halfway point in the season on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Foxtail Pine 500. The points race is a close one in all categories. The closest race is in the Performance Series where we have a tie for first place between reigning champion, Wolfpack Racing (Sid Allen) and most recent race winner, David Isley. Each driver has 36 points. The points in this class do not get adjusted like the other classes (dropping two lowest races) as this class is a builders class and each event must be considered for the championship.

WE Racing drivers are currently atop the Adult Stock and Modified classes with 20 points each. Wolfpack Racing's Sidney Allen maintains a dominant lead in the Youth Stock class with 20 points. In the Masters Club, Nick Hooker is leading the way with 20 points. This class is a close one and will definitely be one to watch as we enter the second half of Season 7.

Season Seven Champions

  • Youth Stock: Sidney Allen

  • Adult Stock: Brent Whitlow

  • Modified: Wolfpack Racing

  • Performance: Wolfpack Racing

  • Masters: Nick Hooker

On Saturday, April 10, 2010, SAPCAR fans crowned the Season Seven Champions.

Sidney Allen, with Wolfpack Racing, took home the Youth Stock Championship despite finishing second for the second straight month. This was the first championship win for Sidney in only his second season racing in SAPCAR.

Despite finishing near the rear of the pack in his class for the last two months, Brent Whitlow, with WE Racing, took home the Championship Trophy in the Adult Stock Class. Brent has won a championship in 6 of the Seven Seasons in a stock class (3 in a row in Adult Stock).

Wolfpack Racing brought home the Championship Trophy, while preventing WE Racing from winning its fourth consecutive Modified Championship. The championship came down to the last race. Wolfpack Racing finished 2 positions ahead of WE Racing to seal the Championship.

Wolfpack Racing continued its domination of the performance class bringing home its 2nd consecutive Championship Trophy.

Nick Hooker, Hooker Hot Rods, defeated the reigning champion Jordan Whitlow to take home the Championship Trophy in the Master's Club class. Nick Dominated Season Seven by taking home 4 of their 6 races.

In Summary: Season Seven was a fun and exciting year of SAPCAR racing. Wolfpack Racing dominated the season by taking home 3 of the 5 championships. One went to Hooker Hot Rods and the other to WE Racing. Congratulations to all of Season 7 Race and Championship Winners!!! I look forward to seeing everyone in August for Season 8!

Season 8 Preview:

Season 8 should prove to be an exciting year as new race teams such as BMF Racing and Blind Mule Racing have started taking home the first place trophies. As they compete for the championship in Season 8, competition will get tight.

We are looking at adding two tracks to our lineup for Season 8. Doing so will put us up to 4 tracks. We may also have some other creative track ideas that will increase the competition.

We will also be changing our rule books for our Stock class. In Season 8, we will remove the "4 Tires must track" rule. However, you must still have 4 tires and axles on the car.

The Performance Class will introduce a new type of car. Stay tuned for details.
