Around the Track
As the checkered flag waved over the sixth season of SAPCAR, four track records were broken. it was obvious that the drivers had been preparing for the season finale. In the youth class, Sidney Allen extended his win streak to two races. Brian Clegg reclaimed the Adult stock class. WE Racing continued to dominate in the modified class. Sid Allen reclaimed the Performance Class with this month's car type: Super Modified. Sid took home the overall SAPCAR track record at 2.936 seconds. Jordan Whitlow brought home the first place trophy in the Master's Class. The Virginia Pine was the final race of the Sixth Season of SAPCAR. Championship winners and overall season results are currently being calculated and will be posted soon. Season Seven: Performance Series Rules Announced
Trouble in Paradise??? After two straight races dominated by Paradise Racing, Wolfpack Racing and WE Racing stepped up to the competition and reclaimed the first place trophies in the Youth & Adult Stock classes, as well as the Modified class. WE Racing barely pulled out what seemed to be one of the closest (if not the closest) victory in SAPCAR History by winning in the Adult Stock Class by .0003 of a second. Paradise Racing assured SAPCAR they will be back atop the race standings before too long. First time race winner Nick Hooker took home the trophy in the Master's Club. Nick has been coming on strong all year and finally made it to the top of the leader board at the end of the race. Season Six - Race Six The sixth race of the season was completed on Saturday, February 21, 2009. Paradise Racing drivers Brian & David Clegg once again dominate as they took home first place trophies in the Youth Stock, Adult Stock, and Modified. Sid Allen comes home in first place in the Performance Series with the running of the Box Stock Cars. Dustin Cockram takes home the victory in the Master's Club. Season Six - Race Five
Paradise Racing drivers Brian & David Clegg dominate The Scotch Pine, the first SAPCAR race of the new year. Race 5 of SAPCAR's sixth season took place on Saturday, January 17, 2008. Just one day after record low temperatures for our area, more records were made as Brian Clegg took home first place during his first career start in the Adult Stock Series. Brian claimed the adult stock track record with a 3.017. David Clegg once again took home first place in the youth class. The Big Rigs made their first appearance in SAPCAR's Performance Series. WE Racing's Brent Whitlow drove his Big Rig named "Big CAT" to victory. Jordan Whitlow took home the Master's Club Victory. The Modified class was a close one as Brian Clegg with Paradise Racing edges out Brent Whitlow in perhaps one of the closest races in SAPCAR history. Brian Clegg: AVG 3.0043 Brent Whitlow: AVG 3.0048 On Saturday, SAPCAR fans were pleased to hear of a new Performance Series class called "Stretch Limos". David Isley also debuted the possible "Saplings" which are Hot Wheel size Pinewood Derby Cars. These cars will debut next season. Our goal is to have a total of 8 different performance class cars. Season Six - Race Four Mail-in race entry David Clegg regains the top spot above the youth stock class. Brent Whitlow edges out close rival Daniel Scaletta for his second consecutive victory in the adult stock class. Wolfpack Racing dethroned the two season undefeated WE Racing Modified entry. Both Sidney and Sid Allen(1st and 2nd respectfully) finished ahead of the WE Racing entry. Sid Allen extended his lead in the Performance Series as he has now taken home 4 first place trophies. Blake Lankford took home the first place trophy in the Master's Club class. SAPCAR takes the month of December off for the holiday season and will start again in January of 2009. Come out and see the debut of the Big Rigs in the Performance Series. Season Six - Race Three Sidney Allen with Wolfpack Racing brought home the trophy in the Youth Stock Class ending a two race win streak by the current points leader David Clegg. Defending Adult Stock champion, Brent Whitlow with WE Racing, came in first place. The limited Modified points lead was extended as the WE Racing entry brought home its third trophy of the season. Sid Allen with Wolfpack Racing continues to dominate the performance series with his third consecutive win. SAPCAR hosted the Second race for the Master's Club class from Trinity Baptist Church. First time racer, Brycen Cockram led the way with his entry. Points leader, Jordan Whitlow remains atop the standings. Season Six - RACE TWO Our mail in entry is dominating the youth class while Wolfpack Racing is coming on strong in the performance series. WE Racing's Limited Modified is also dominating. All three of these teams have scored two for two so far this season. Daniel Scaletta dethroned James Whitlow for the First place trophy in the Adult stock class. During the second race of the season, SAPCAR welcomed two new racers in our stock classes as well as a new division - Trinity Baptist Church Master's Club. We welcome any and all new racers to come out and join our Pinewood Racing Series! Season Six Opener: New teams visit victory lane. Our first mail-in winner takes home the Youth Stock trophy. Newcomer, Sid Allen took home the Performance Series trophy while breaking the all time track record.
